Here's a sample of some of the comics Peng Lei used in his book 北海怪兽. Every page of the book is filled with them (as well as photos of the band and essays about Peng Lei's personal history), and these are only two. The text below summarizes the context these comics appeared in and translates any dialogue in them.
While filming the video for I love you (我爱你), Peng Lei had a dream that he won an Oscar, but as he stepped up to accept the award, the trophy fell to the ground and shattered. A famous director then appeared at his side said to him “Son, you still don’t have a beard, bald head, big stomach, or braid. Once you have those you can become a director.”
