Here’s an image from a side street of Lingshi Road from a few weeks ago. I can only presume these stores had a demon infestation on their hands. The authorities had no choice but to evacuate the buildings and brick the demons in, lest they take over the city.

I had just been at a massive rectangular edifice whose inside was several hundred tiny stores selling their stacks of unorganized clothes. Some stores sold clothes for old ladies. Some sold clothes for Lolitas. Others specialized in baggy pants and camo. These clothing markets are all massive mazes, reminiscent of dungeons in a computer RPG. If you spend a few hours in one, coming out into the real world where trees line the streets and breezes blow against your hair is a quite disorienting experience. You forget who you are. Then you walk down the street and encounter evidence of a recent demon infestation. There’s nothing to do but speculate if any of the demons made it out and were lurking beneath the piles of clothes you just spent the last few hours looking through.
