Over the summer I attended a two week Algebraic Geometry lecture series at Fudan. It wasn't at the main Fudan campus, which I've only been to in order to peruse the nearby record stores and used book stores. Instead it was at their Jiangwan campus, which is farther to the north. Big grassy fields extended in all directions. Every building was a massive marble edifice. It was so scary. I'm a small person and I need to be kept in small containers. I may dream of massive indoor worlds, but to see the exteriors of those worlds jutting up from the ground is all quite intimidating for me.
